Thought I would share this. Had a 2G come in with weird electrical issues. Engine would sometimes drop a cylinder for no reason and then just come back. The cooling fans would also sometimes run and sometimes not making the car over heat. CEL would come on sometimes for bogus codes.

What I found was pretty crazy! When Kevin figured it was the ECU, I took it apart and looked at it. I found that the whole board looked yellow in color. I recognized this as I used to see this a lot when I had my TV/VCR repair business. The owner is a chain smoker and the smoke actually made the factory protective coating on the board conductive and it totally pissed off the processor. I stripped the board of all of the coating and washed it real good and now the car is perfect.

Smoking is not only bad for you, but it's terrible for electronics as well. Just don't blow that shit all over your freaking ECU!

Jack
