I've been posting on link mainly.
I got my Spyder. With a 6 bolt, FMIC, FP green, injectors, dsmlink 2.5 cams blah blah
Wasn't all it was cracked up to be. 6 bolt crank + 7 bolt rods = wasted thrust bearing. 2g head 1g intake manifold.
Motor was pretty much a wash. Starting over reusing the block, pistons and intake manifold. Comp was 185 185 190 185 so I am keeping the Arias or JE (not sure which brand) free floaters.
Cost was 2800, which I only paid thinking it was a full running car. It is an original GST so it's got the power roof yada yada. I just found out it used to have a factory disk changer in the trunk. Every day is a surprise.
Cost of the GSX was 800 bucks.
Calipers are being powdercoated red and will go on later (but at the rate I am going they will be jsut in time) Most of the bushing sleeves were so rusted that when I used the impact the rubber mounts tore apart. I just had to make a ton of bushings over.
Got the 2 long screws in the Spyder and a pile of parts. It's been raining here otherwise I'd have worked on it tonight.
Total time invested: 10 hrs but I had another guy helping me.
